St. John's Food Ministry is an active and integral part of our parish and community life. Volunteers are needed in all our undertakings, for instance to assist in preparing food, setting up and taking down tables, and cleaning up.

EMMAUS CAFE: Wednesdays from 10 am to 1 pm we host a free cafe for all community members in the lower Parish Hall. Drop in for snacks or a meal at no charge, cooked in our Certified Commercial kitchen. Everyone is welcome. This time in the week becomes a needed space for people to warm up in the winter or get out of the heat in the summer.

COMMUNITY DINNER: We host a community dinner on the second Wednesday of each month. The meal is open to all who wish to attend from our parish as well as the larger Port Hope community.

FROZEN MEALS: We also prepare meals to be frozen and distributed by Green Wood Coalition twice a month. Cooking sessions will take place on the first and third Thursday of the month. If you would like to help with this food ministry, please email Penny Nutbrown.
